Key Responsibilities Responsible for performing process/dimension audit to maintain NPI output in sustaining phase, provide solution of auditing findings then track them to close; · Perform regular process audit to monitor supplier process performance, provide solution for finding and track them to close. · Maintain PMP implement to ensure proper inspection and manufacture control in place. · Verify ORT method and performance to ensure the test objectives are met. · Verify equipment/fixture/gauge maintenance to ensure the inspection and production deviation. · Monitor SI on both dimensional and cosmetic to ensure inception performance. · Perform regular product dimension audit to monitor supper shipping performance, and work with NPI MQE on corrective action of the deviation. · Review metrology design (MTD) with Engineering Drawing, verify the MTD implement, drive MTD correct or update . · Review gauges and measurement fixtures, and drive their qualifications. · Monitor Measurement System Analysis to maintain the measurement errors level. · Drive Cpk measurement, verify the data integrity and analysis variation. · Provide effective technical direction/guidance to vendor to correct/improve audit findings. · Create the effective and efficient audit method and system to maintain supplier performance. · Provide valuable comparison result/solution from all audits. Education / Experiences Bachelor or above, majored in Mech. Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Able to communicate clearly and think logically Clear communication and logical thinking. Has deep knowledge on quality management system structure, quality procedures, and the application of typical quality tools in quality management practice (e.g. MSA, FA/CA, SPC, Yield Analysis, and etc.) Be familiar with GD&T and have rich experience to apply the knowledge in actual work. Be familiar with typical mechanical mfg. processes and technologies (i.e machining, moulding, stamping, etc.) Has strong data analysis ability, able to utilize data analysis tools to discover the clues of inherence of data. · Project management skill is preferred Mechanical Quality Engineer (Color & Texture) - Intern Key Responsibilities · Perform regular process audit to monitor supplier performance, provide solution for finding and drive closure. · Conduct in-region finish audits to drive quality compliance · Responsible for conducting or participating in multi- disciplinary finishes quality improvement programs for all Apple lines of business. · Actively participate in the development of new finishes and ensure adherence to specific goals, and strategies supporting business objectives while maintaining the highest quality. · Serves as the color & texture consultant in region to coach and provide direction in order to achieve desired finish results. · Consults with business partners regarding implementation of finish quality improvement strategies, measurements, and training. · Supports finishes data analysis initiative to drive enclosure part finish quality improvements with ODM and sub-tier. · This position will support all area's associated to Finishes across all lines of Apple business regarding finishes quality, supplier qualification, and assurance of supply w/ compliance. · This position interface with Industrial Design, Supply Chain Management, Subject Matter Expert, Supplier Based Engineer, Mechanical Quality Engineer, Suppliers & ODM. Be familiar with typical surface finish processes or technologies (i.e blasting, PVD, anodizing, painting, etc.) is plus. · Experience in PC or Cell phone surface treatment processes is a plus. Mechanical Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for materials, processes and products, solving complex quality engineering problems in creative and effective ways. Review Engineering Drawing and provide feedback/proposal to PD. Develop metrology (MTD) for parts measurement. Design gauges and measurement fixtures, and drive their qualifications. Conduct Measurement System Analysis to manage the measurement errors. Drive FAI/Cpk data collection, verify the data integrity and work with PD on disposition. Review quality of cosmetic and work with PD on shipping standard during Engineering build stages. Ensure parts shipped per PD requirement on both dimensional and cosmetic for each engineering build. Responsible for quality issues happen at FATP and drive issue close with FACA provided. Conduct Yield Gap Analysis and drive process improvements。 Collect representative production level samples and lead ID review for cosmetic criteria setup, provide yield assumption analysis and work on improvements. Ensure parts to meet reliability requirements Establish and implement Q-Plan/OQC, and review SIP to ensure proper inspection plan in place. Drive FQC/SI and FATP correlations on both dimensional and cosmetic during development stages Drive data collection (FAI/Cpk) for additional lines/fixtures/tooling/machines, and identify and assure necessary corrective actions are taken, authorise the start-up of production with FAI/Cpk approval Drive vendor to meet ramp targets through yield improvement and removing bottom neck caused by inspections. Develop stretch yield target with vendor for sustaining projects, and identify improvement opportunities to bridge the gap. Provide technical direction and guidance to vendor quality engineer, develops supplier capability (including necessary training), establishes proper reporting of in-process and final inspection and test results to Apple. Interfaces with other Apple functional groups as resources to optimise suppliers quality programs. Education / Experiences Bachelor degree or above, majored in Mech. Engineering or Industrial Engineering. At least 10 weeks full-time commitment to the internship; but the duration can be flexible. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good English. Able to communicate clearly and think logically. Experience in a quality role supporting high volume manufacturing of mechanical products is preferred. Has knowledge on quality management system structure, quality procedures, and quality tools (e.g. Mechanical Drawing, Measurement, MSA, SPC). Be familiar with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Manufacturing Design Engineer (Soft Goods) - Intern Job Summary In this highly visible role, you will learn to manage selection, implementation & optimization of manufacturing processes for our legendary soft goods products. You will utilize your Mechanical Engineering training and work cross functionally with Product Design Engineering and Industrial Design to assess product features for manufacturability, and learn how to develop capable processes and equipment. Key Responsibilities You will utilize your Mechanical Engineering training to develop Manufacturing background in the following areas: Process Development: • Learn, Planning, proposing, and leading experiments to produce timely and accurate analyses used to drive design, development, and supply chain decisions. • Learn how to generate the suitability of a fabrication technology for a given part design. Planning validation exercises to demonstrate initial feasibility as well as manufacturing capability. Analyzing results of validation exercises and provide technical recommendations. • Reviewing progress of development activities at supplier locations and serve as point of escalation for critical process related issues. New Product Introduction: • Work with lead engineers to drive process development and capability assessment activities, reviewing part design documentation to ensure alignment with process capability. • Help assign specific tasks and work with Apple suppliers to support process development and/or data gathering activities. Set clear goals for results and provide timely reviews of performance throughout program. • Establish validation procedures to determine acceptance of tooling into development builds as well as mass production. Supplier Execution: • Learn how to review supplier tool design, process flow, equipment selection, DFM, and DOE proposals. Identify shortfalls and corrective actions to ensure design compliance. • Work with supplier engineering teams to map out process development exercises, secure resources, and commit to schedules in line with program goals • Assess supplier readiness to support build events and production ramp. Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk. Education / Experiences Should be entering final term education in Mechanical field. (ME, IE, Mechanical, etc.) Must have a demonstrated hands-on mechanical ability.
